SUMMARY:Understanding How Employers will be Impacted by the Changes in the Labour Relations Code
DESCRIPTION:KSW Lawyers Seminar: October 30\, 2019 - Labour Relations Code Amendments\n\nJoin Jesse Dunning and Michael Weiler at the Morgan Creek Golf Course for breakfast\, knowledge sharing\, and networking. In this session\, they will be providing an overview of the Code and the impact of the significant changes to the Code made earlier this year. Non-union and union employers alike will be impacted by these changes. Some of the key areas that will be discussed include the following:\n\n\n Changes to the certification process that make it much easier for unions to certify employers.\n The expedited process for certification which will limit employers' ability to influence its employees and properly respond to a certification application.\n The changes to the successorship provisions where employers contract out services and then re-tender the contracts (applying to both union and non-union employers).\n\n\nUnion employers will be interested in our discussion of the "meet or beat" requirements with respect to the provisions of the Employment Standards Act. The seminar will conclude with some tips on how to prepare and limit your exposure to union certification and the impact of other changes to the Code.
